WEEK 8 BLOG: Community development led by innovation

Updated: May 21, 2024

With my diligent efforts and innovative approaches, the community development has garnered a positive response. In this week's community activity, I endeavored to share a comprehensive series of video tutorials and meticulously hand-drawn recipes, specifically selecting simple, convenient, and delectable cuisines. This experiment has proven even more successful than last week's hand-drawn recipe initiative as it received greater support and adoration from numerous members. Moreover, our community has also welcomed new participants, contributing to its gradual expansion.

In addition to exploring novel content ideas, I have also acquired knowledge in risk management and community moderation on this class. Throughout the process of community development, I have come to realize that it is crucial not only to encourage active engagement and communication among members but also guide their discussions towards topics aligned with the overarching theme of the community (Marwick, A. E., & Boyd, D. 2011). Furthermore, fostering constructive debates by allowing for disagreements can stimulate a positive atmosphere conducive to meaningful exchanges. However, it is equally important to exercise caution in order to prevent any form of personal insult or negative comments such as those based on race or gender (Dineva, D., & Breitsohl, J. ,2022).

To summarize my observations over these past few weeks: video tutorials and hand-drawn recipes undeniably emerge as the most popular forms of content within our community. Simultaneously, easily prepared dishes with a touch of spiciness have gained significant popularity as well. Armed with newfound insights into risk management and community regulation practices, I am determined to apply this knowledge effectively in order to enhance the harmony and coordination within our thriving community.
